India – Day 1

We arrived in India after a 26 hour flight.  Our team is Ken and Cheri Powell, Ben and Ashley Browning, and me.  As you can expect, we were tired.  We finally made it through customs and got all our luggage (PTL!). After making it to Tony and Stephany’s apartment (they are away in Thailand) and clean up and a brief nap (too brief), we had lunch at Ramesh and Esther’s house a good Indian meal of Kentucky Fried chicken and french fries with Coke.  They are so gracious.  Sunday night was house church in a downtown apartment.  There were about 35 of us crammed into a room no larger than 12×12, and probably not that big.  Singing with bong go drums and tamborines was loud and intense.  We had prayer as they are in a Hindu neighborhood for their witness in their community.  I had the opportunity to preach and encourage them.  What a blessed day!  We were on the ground, had some good food and worshipped with believers, many of them were new believers.
